Advanced Ways on How to Fight Against Prayerlessness- Part Two

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:17

“Pray without ceasing.” KJV

5- Train Yourself to Respond to Every Prompt to Pray.

Christians who are filled with the Holy Spirit frequently feel prompted to pray at times. When given instructions, we occasionally follow them and other times we don’t. You must learn to discipline yourself to follow those prompts to pray if you want to combat your lack of prayer.

Consider it a spiritual warning against specific assaults on your life or the life of a loved one. We’ve heard tales of people who saved the lives of loved ones by following certain prompts from the spirit. No, you just need to open your mouth and mind and start speaking in tongues without knowing what you’re praying for.

John 16:13 boldly states that- “when the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”

6- Seek Counselling:

Yes! You can deal with some spiritual difficulties on your own. Others you can’t, so you need a counsellor to help you with them, lead you in the right direction, and show you where you fell short. The counsellor may be your pastor or the person in charge of leading prayers at your local church.

It’s not even what you think it is, you see; you need a counsellor to give you the strength to face the dilemma you’ve been avoiding your entire life. “Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers,” said Shannon L. Alder. When you are prepared to answer the questions, you have been avoiding your entire life, it happens.

Ask Jesus to Strengthen Your Faith in His Promises:

As I said earlier, failing to pray is more of a faith issue than a lack of discipline issue. However, there are times when you can try to study the Bible and grow in your relationship with God, but your mind is just too busy to allow it. At this point, what do you do? Ask Jesus, absolutely. The father of the demon-possessed boy Jesus healed in Mark 9:24 asked Jesus to remove his doubt.

When Jesus said that if he had faith, anything was possible, the father of the child “immediately cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelieve.” Lack of prayer decreases your faith in God’s promises to you. You can ask Jesus to remove your doubt, and He will.

There is no easier sin to commit than the sin of prayerlessness. It is a sin against God and against man- Wesley Duewel

I’ll encourage you to stay with me for one more session on this topic, which will focus on how to overcome prayerlessness. I think we both agree that this is a crucial meeting we shouldn’t miss. Please join me for more tomorrow.

Prayer.

Thank you, Lord! These teachings are real to me, and I decided today to be prayerful rather than being prayerless, amen.
