Believing in Christ and Being Satisfied

Believing in Christ and Being Satisfied

Scripture: St. Matthew 5:6

KJV: Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

GNT: “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires.

God will satisfy them fully!

NLT: God blesses those who are hungry and thirsty for justice, for they will receive it in full.

 Reflection.

Jesus declares that those who thirst and hunger for righteousness are blessed, which means they have good things. Why? mainly because they will be content.

As it improves fellowship with the Almighty God, righteousness draws a person closer to God. Before he fell, Adam had divine fellowship with God, but this ended because of his unrighteousness. Additionally, righteousness possesses power and authority because it results in victories in conflicts. It always produces boldness and the presence of God.

Friends, when I was growing up, specifically when I was in high school, we used to sing this song in the morning before lunch. Some people have food but are unable to eat it, while others can eat but lack food. I grew up believing that God provides for my needs in terms of food, and I have the desire to consume that food. Glory to God in the highest, Amen.

However, the Good News Translation (GNT), which reads, “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do as God requires; God will fully satisfy them,” really piques my interest. What do you, dear friends, desire? With the help of that verse, I’m confident that I can say, “We must have a hunger for God’s work because if we do, he promises to sate it. I therefore urge everyone to exhibit this zeal and appetite for the things of God going forward.
