Different Kinds of Voices You Hear

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:10

“There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.”

Reflection

Hello, my dear friends! There are so many different voices we hear every day, especially when making decisions. Knowing God’s will be one of the top priorities for all sincere Christians. Anyone who has lived a little can tell there are numerous possible outcomes for their life. When faced with a choice, we frequently ask, “Which way is best?”  The results could be disastrous if you choose the incorrect path. The results of choosing the incorrect spouse could be disastrous. If you choose the wrong church, the repercussions could be eternal.

When we make decisions, we frequently are unable to go back and change our minds. In other words, many choices cannot be changed. Because of this, we must understand God’s will to be led in every decision we make.

In actuality, even skeptics are interested in the future and what is best for them. Many of them seek the advice of fortune tellers, astrologers, and soothsayers. They put their faith in occult power and false prophets. They recognize the importance of knowing what to do next.

But as Christians, we don’t have to look to demonic forces to predict the future. The Holy Spirit has been kindly given to us by God to lead us. A true Christian is one who is led by the Spirit of God, which is in line with Romans 8:14- “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

Friends, today I’d list the “Twelve Different Voices” that, according to Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, you might hear every day. Tomorrow, with God’s help, I’ll go into more detail about how it’s possible that you hear these voices and mistake them for the Holy Spirit speaking to you or leading you.

  1. The voice of God
  2. The voice of the flesh
  3. The voice of the mind
  4. The voice of the devil
  5. The voice of a prophet
  6. The voice of the Bible
  7. The voice of your friends
  8. The voice of your parents
  9. The voice of the Spirit
  10. The voice of your spouse
  11. The voice of circumstances
  12. The voice of your own will

There are probably some or all these voices speaking to you right now. You might be influenced by these voices depending on who you are. Friends, join me tomorrow as we explore these voices in greater detail. Cheers!!
