Do Not Give Up

Scripture: 2 Chronicles 15:7; Galatians 6:9

“But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded.” NLT

“So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

I’ve come today to offer inspiration to everyone facing a challenge of some kind. It makes no difference how far along you are in giving up on your good deeds in that circumstance. Hey! Hold on a minute, I have some good news and the best solution you’ve ever heard.

According to what I interpret the Bible to be saying, 2 Chronicles 15:7, “If waiting has you down and discouraged, it may be a sign that you’ve been finding happiness in your circumstances rather than in Jesus. Don’t give up if you are having trouble being patient today. Recognize that God is aware of your efforts and will reward you for them.

Paul also recently urged the Galatian Christians in Galatians 6 to be reminded that putting their faith in their flesh in this life will only result in corruption. Our self-reliance only causes deterioration and death. That is true whether we rely on human effort to save us by abiding by the rites and sacraments of the law or whether we choose to act on our own self-centered, sinful desires. Only “planting” the Spirit brings about salvation. God grants us His own Spirit through faith in Christ for the pardon of our sins. Only that Spirit will ultimately grant eternal life (Galatians 6:6–8).

I like how goes into more detail! “Paul now exhorts the Galatians to keep up their good deeds. Doing good takes effort, especially if one starts to question its value. Paul is advising the Galatians to continue leading lives that are in line with their beliefs. They have been set free by Christ, and the Holy Spirit accompanies them. They will eventually witness the harvest of eternal life for themselves.

The good deeds the Galatians are performing under the power of the Spirit will also produce fruit in a more immediate sense. God frequently gives His followers the opportunity to witness how their efforts to be good both in this life and the next matter.

Having said that, how about we have a quick chat about why people give up? What drives people to work so hard on a project or something else for years on end when it would often be easier to just give up?

Why Do People Give Up?

Here is what I learned from a post that I hope will make you reconsider your decision to quit now or in the future.

🔸️they expect fast results.

🔸️they stop believing in themselves.

🔸️they get stuck in the past.

🔸️they dwell on mistakes.

🔸️they fear the future.

🔸️they resist change.

🔸️they give up their power.

🔸️they believe in their weaknesses.

🔸️they feel the world owes them something.

🔸️they fear failure more than desire success.

🔸️they never visualize what’s possible.

🔸️they feel they have something to lose.

🔸️they overwork.

🔸️they assume their problems are unique.

🔸️they see failure as the signal to turn back.

🔸️they feel sorry for themselves.

Do you experience any of these? Are you allowing lies, excuses, and other negative traits to stand in the way of your success?

I urge you to maintain your faith and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, who is the source and summit of your belief. If you maintain your focus and stay away from the list of reasons listed above why people tend to give easily, you can rest assured that whatever good deed you are involved with will be rewarded in due course.

Lord, you are needed! I need to keep up the good work and keep going strong so that I can eventually receive the reward that the Bible has promised.

God bless you……
