EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE MOVING INTO THE IMPERFECT WILL OF GOD

EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE MOVING INTO THE IMPERFECT WILL OF GOD

Scriptures:

Isaiah 30:21
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

John 10:27
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

REFLECTION.

Following up on what we talked about the day before, today we will learn that it is possible to move from the perfect will of God into His imperfect will without having any idea how to do so. It is extremely challenging to flow in the perfect will of God when one is unaware of how to do so. Today, we are going to look at a few examples from the Bible of people moving into the imperfect will of God. These examples come from both the Old and New Testaments.

  1. ISRAEL ENTERED THE IMPERFECT WILL OF GOD BY INSISTING HAVNG A KING- 1 Samuel 8:4-7 God’s wish for Israel at their mature, perfect stage was not for them to have a king. But God gave in to their request and revealed to Samuel in private that the people had chosen not to follow Him. However, even though having a king was not entirely in accordance with God’s will, God still permitted it. As you will see in the following sections, this plan did not work out very well, and the children of Israel endured a great deal of suffering at the hands of their kings.
  • BALAAM MOVED OUT OF THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD WHEN HE CONTIUNED TO REQUEST FOR A CHANCE TO PROPHESY TO THE KING OF MOAB- Numbers 22:9-22

The Lord had made it abundantly clear to Balak, the king of Moab, that He did not want Balaam to have any kind of relationship with him. Balaam, on the other hand, was eager to get his hands on some of the money that Balak had promised. He persisted in his efforts to convince the Lord to grant him permission to address the king. In the end, the Lord instructed him to depart from there. Even instruction on how to communicate with them was given to him by the Lord. Christians in the modern era would have understood this to mean that it was the will of God. This passage serves as a warning to us that although it may appear that God is allowing us to pursue our own interests, He is fully aware of the fact that our hearts are hardened in disobedience.

  • THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL MOVED OUT OF THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD WHEN THEY LUSTED AFTER PROSPERITY- Psalm 106:13-15
  • THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL ENTERED THE IMPERFECT WILL OF GOD WHEN THEY FORCED AARON TO MAKE CALF- Psalm 106:19-23
  • NADAB AND ABIHU WHERE IN THE IMPERFECT WILL OF GOD WHEN THEY OFFERED A SACRIFICE THAT GOD HAD NOT ASKED FOR- Leviticus 10:1-2
  • ABRAHAM ENTERED THE IMPERFECT WILL OF GOD WHEN HE PRODUCED AN HEIR THROUGH HAGAR- Genesis16:1-2
  • THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL MOVED OUT OF THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD WHEN HE ALLOWED THEM TO DIVORCE- Mark 10:2-9

Dear friends, the examples that were just presented to us are there so that we can gain insight from their failings and avoid making the same mistakes that they did. To ensure that we have a complete understanding, I would strongly encourage us to read through all the attached scriptures. If we do so, God will give us the knowledge we need to comprehend the meaning of His words.

In point of fact, the topic that we are going to be learning about tomorrow is “Understanding How People Enter the Imperfect Will of God.” I would ask that you please stay updated with me as we continue to delve further into this fascinating theme.

PRAYER.

Dear Jesus, I can see you working in my favour, I can see you fighting in my battles, I can see you bringing in my miracles, you would do what you say you would do. May these examples we have learned help us move from your imperfect will to your perfect will, Amen.
