Faith is the Foundation of Everything

Faith is the Foundation of Everything

Scripture: Hebrews 11:1

KJV: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

GNT: “To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.”

 Reflection.

There are different biblical interpretations to this scripture but here is what i found from christianwalls.com- “The meaning of Hebrews 11:1 is about having confidence and hope in the promised word of God as revealed to you. It is taking God at His words knowing that He is too faithful to fail and will never go back on His promises because He is not a man that He should lie.”

However, I was wondering how many of us reading this text has ever been to the hospital in a critical situation of life and death. Suddenly, the doctor walks in and looked at you face to face declaring with confidence that you will be healed from that sickness, of course! you believed your doctor probably because he or she might have treated someone of similar situation or because of his or her experience and professionalism. Your Faith builds up the moment you heard those words.

Meanwhile, most times, it is not the doctor that heals you rather, your healing came to you as a result of your faith and strong belief that your doctor is capable of what he said. As a result, whatever treatment he or she recommends brings a faster process of your healing according to your faith. Unfortunately, our faith in God is less compared to the faith we have for our doctors. I may be right or wrong, I guess.

As a matter of fact, here is my thought on todays scripture- It means that you should believe things completely even if you have no evidence to support your belief.

The Bible says that faith gives substance to the things you hope for. In other words, faith brings those things into your life. The basic definition of faith, according to the Bible, is simply believing in God’s goodness and believing that He rewards the people who seek after Him.

How do you walk by faith?

If you want to walk by faith, you need to release your fear to God and accept the path He leads you down. This is easier said than done, of course. You may not be able to become completely fearless, but you can be courageous and learn to act according to God’s will even when you are afraid of what lies ahead. And the Bible says- “call those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).”

I challenge you today to call forth you’re healing now from that hospital bed, rise and go home now. Call forth your dead finances to rise now, call forth your dead marriage to rise now…whatever needs to rise must rise now by faith as you call them forth, Amen.

 Prayer.

O LORD, WE PRAY THAT YOU HELP US AS WE CONTINUALLY BUILD IN OUR FAITH IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
