REASONS WHY YOU MUST BE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD

REASONS WHY YOU MUST BE LED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD

Scripture: Deuteronomy 28:1

…if thou shalt hearken … God will set thee on high …

Reflection.

Today, I’d like to discuss on some few reasons out of the gazillions why we must be led by the Spirit of God.

1. You must be led by the Spirit of God so that the Lord can lift you high above your colleagues and contemporaries.

Israel had just become a nation and needed to grow and prosper like every nation does. The newly born nation of Israel was surrounded by other nations with similar aspirations. The Lord gave them the key that would set them above all the nations around.

If you will LISTEN DILIGENTLY TO THE VOICE of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Deuteronomy 28: 1 (AMP)

Deuteronomy 28:1 teaches that hearkening or listening to the voice of God is the key to promotion above your contemporaries and colleagues.

Listening to the voice of God will set you above others in the same class. This is one of the foremost reasons why you must be led by the Spirit of God.

The ability to hear the voice of the Lord and to follow him is the key factor that differentiates ministers of the gospel. You go up or down based on this ability. That is why it is so crucial for every pastor and minister to wait on God and to learn how to be led by the Spirit of God. You must learn how to be led by the Spirit of God into the perfect will of God.

In the perfect will of God, you will find all your needs met and all your prayers answered. In the perfect will of God, you will fit appropriately into God’s plan for your life. In the perfect will of God, you will attain to all the spiritual heights that God has destined for you and you’re calling.

2. You must be led by the Spirit of God so that you will be in the perfect will of God.

Following the Spirit of God into the perfect will of God must be your aim. Does He speak through books?

Does He speak through pastors?

Does he speak through an inner voice?

Does he speak when I fast?

If you do not succeed in this quest for hearing the voice of God, your ministry will not amount to much. You must seek to find what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God Romans 12:2).

3. You must be led by the Spirit of God so that you avoid error. Matthew 22:29

There are two types of ministers: those who love dreams, visions, and prophetic things. The other type is those who love the solid Word of God.

People who base their lives only on written Word easily go into error.

On the other hand, those who live their lives mainly by following visions and prophecies are equally prone to error.

Error comes when you are only guided by the written Word of God.

Error comes when you are bereft of dreams and visions and prophecies! Error comes when you only live by the rules and principles of the Word of God but deny the leading of the Holy Spirit. Do you want to be in error? Do you want to deviate from the will of God? Of course not! You must believe in the Bible, but you must be led by the Spirit of God.

5. You must be led by the Spirit of God so that you avoid the futility of your mind. Ephesians 4:17-18(NASB)

Christians must forsake the world and the lifestyle of the unbeliever. The lifestyle of the unbeliever is characterized by walking in the “futility of the mind”. The mind is a gift from God. But the mind on its own leads many astray into darkness and futility.

Without being directed by the Lord, you will never be anointed. The anointing will not come from Heaven per se.

All anointed men caught the anointing by relating with certain people on earth. God will have to direct you to relate with anointed men of God. Jesus told His disciples, “Follow me and I will make you…” Without following the right person, you will not amount to much in the ministry.

Prayer!

Dear Lord! Please, help us to follow the right way to obtaining the anointing, amen.

Please share!
