Relationship with God on a Personal Level

Relationship with God on a Personal Level

Scripture: James 4:8

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

Reflection.

You cannot be a good shepherd, believer, or even a good Christian without having a personal relationship with God. A disciplined person who practices regular prayer and in-depth Bible study demonstrates a strong spiritual connection. Your reading and study of books about ministry complement your Bible study, which is a positive sign.

The relationships we have with the people in our lives are different from our relationships with God. For instance, they might appear to be simpler to contact. Although we might not be able to converse with God directly, we can all have a closer, more loving relationship with Him than we can with anyone else.

As a result, spending time with God in prayer and through reading his word is the most effective and practical way to develop a relationship with him.

Start by praying and reading the Bible regularly if you want to get to know God personally. The best way to develop your relationship with him is through intentional communication because, in reality, no relationship could survive without it.

James finally exhorts us to approach in verse 8 in order to get closer to God. Additionally, God promises that in response, He will draw nearer to us. That’s an incredible act of mercy on God’s part. We owe the Creator of the universe nothing, not even His proximity. What kindness on His part to even approach us! As a result of our action in His direction, this is especially kind. It is our responsibility as believers to first draw near, and then God will reciprocate by bringing all the material and spiritual blessings we might require in life.

THE CHOICE IS ALL YOURS MY FRIENDS….CHOOSE WISELY

 PRAYER

May the grace of God lead us into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; and may we take up boldness to personally and willingness to first draw near to God, Amen.
