Scripture: Acts 20:28

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

The world has found salvation through the blood of Jesus. The scripture outlines five distinct actions that must be taken in order to be saved by Jesus’ blood.

1.The first step to salvation is FORGIVENESS THROUGH THE BLOOD.

In whom we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence-Ephesians 1:8

You receive forgiveness as the first step towards your salvation via the blood of Jesus. When you are forgiven, it indicates that God is no longer enraged with you. He has written off your debts and granted you a pardon. God no longer holds grudges against you, and you are freed from your duty.

2.The second step to salvation is CLEANSING THROUGH THE BLOOD.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST HIS SON CLEANSETH us from all sin…. 1 John 1:7

Following your pardon, you require purification. You go one step further with this process than you did with forgiveness. You might be pardoned, but there’s usually a hint of the bad things we did in the past.

3.The third step to salvation is SANCTIFICATION THROUGH THE BLOOD.

For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that he might SANCTIFY THE PEOPLE WITH HIS OWN BLOOD, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach-Hebrews 13:11-13

More than cleansing and forgiveness, sanctification brings you even closer to God. It denotes that you have been designated for a holy religious function. You can only be saved to such an extent from your previous wicked state by the sanctifying power of Jesus’ blood. This is the ability to completely change a criminal into a divine priest! The sanctifying power of Jesus’ blood is this power.

4.The fourth step to salvation is REDEMPTION THROUGH THE BLOOD.

And they sung a new song, saying, thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and HAST REDEEMED US TO GOD BY THY BLOOD out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth-Revelation 5:9-10

Redeeming oneself is the next step in the process of salvation. Redeeming something means getting it back, winning it, or purchasing it. Redeeming entails purchasing a slave back. Legally, Christ has purchased our release from the devil’s slave camp. He used His blood to purchase us. God chose to purchase you back to Himself when He went shopping, and He used His blood to cover the cost.

5.The fifth step to salvation is RECONCILIATION THROUGH THE BLOOD.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be A PROPITIATION THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus-Romans 3:23-26

Reconciliation is just another wonderful benefit that the blood of Jesus has bestowed upon us. You are redeemed, cleansed, sanctified, and granted forgiveness, which leads to ultimate reconciliation with God. You can now take pleasure in your restored relationship with God. This is the main idea behind propitiation.

Propitiation involves a regaining of the favour and the goodwill that you lost with God. Through the blood of Jesus, you will appease the heavenly Father and restore your relationship with Him.

In conclusion! I’ll leave you with this question to pounder as you continue to reflect on this topic.

Can a Christian/Believer lose his or her salvation! Rather, the joy of their salvation. Please, share your ideas by emailing me at or drop your comment via our website.

Dear Father! Thank you for salvation you purchased through forgiveness, cleansing, sanctification, and redemption. Please, restore the joy of our salvation if there’s anyway, we lost it, amen.

Please share.
