The End

The End

Scripture: St. Matthew 24:14

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Our discussion yesterday was on “the second coming of Jesus.” I think you made it through the story; if not, please try again. By the grace of God, I was converted when I was thirteen (13) years old, during my high school years. I can recall hearing gospel preachers and messages about Jesus’ second coming while I was a child and before I was saved, and I still do as an adult.

In fact, someone who has been waiting for something for such a long time and has been given so many promises must surely feel frustrated and may even give up.

However, as I noted in my previous note from yesterday. Regardless of how long it takes, THE END WILL MOST CERTAINLY COME.

As we work diligently to obediently carry out the instruction of our King to make disciples and establish churches all over the world, Matthew 24:14 makes a promise that is meant to inspire hope and boost confidence. Jesus foretells a time when the world will be in upheaval, but this alone won’t indicate that the end has arrived.

Here’s how I interpret today’s verse. Yes! Wars and rumors of wars, fathers killing their children, and visa versa will all occur. Matthew 24 includes a list of all of these and many more. The end depends on You and I preaching the gospel to everyone before it happens (see today’s text), not on all of the things mentioned above. It is crucial to remember that no matter what, the world will not end because of war or the problems we currently face; the end will only come when the gospel is preached to all peoples.

Because of this, God left the end of this world in our hands as believers, isn’t that wonderful? But rest assured that someone will ask you what you did with your time. Do you currently or have you previously preached this gospel? Keep in mind that your creator will eventually ask you something. One way to commit to carrying out the great commission is to share DAILY DIGEST with the friends and family on your contact list. 👍

Dear Jesus, I am willing to present myself as a tool to spread this gospel through social media and internet platforms. I’m sure so many have these intentions as well. Help us not to relent but be steadfast and punctual, Amen.
