Scripture: Hebrews 2:3

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.

Yesterday, we had a stimulating conversation about the seven advantages of salvation. We will continue discussing why salvation is history’s greatest miracle today.

4.Salvation is the greatest miracle because it is always a miracle for someone to be released from prison.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, TO PREACH DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.

Luke 4:18

“I once met a prisoner who touched my heart. This man was a convicted murderer. He was in prison for life because he had murdered his own son. His fervency, zeal and prayer life touched me so much that I wanted him to be released from prison. Try as I did, I could not think of any way to get him out of the prison. The prison gates were heavily guarded and there were armed soldiers everywhere, so I quickly discarded the idea of helping him escape.

I thought about getting a presidential pardon for this man. But I did not know the president, nor did I know anyone who knew the president. As I left the prison that day, I looked at this prayerful prisoner and thought to myself, “it is going to take a miracle to get you out of here.”

Indeed, it will take a miracle to get the souls of this world out of prison. To be saved is to be set free from captivity. Today, if salvation has come to you, the great miracle of being set free from prison has happened to you. Salvation is the greatest miracle.” Bishop Dag Heward-Mills

5.Salvation is the greatest miracle because it is always a great miracle for light to shine into the darkness.

THE PEOPLE THAT WALKED IN DARKNESS HAVE SEEN A GREAT LIGHT: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

Isaiah 9:2

The entrance of light into a person’s life is a magnificent miracle. Light works wonders. A great miracle happens when the light shines into the dark. A country needs a dam or a sizable power plant in order for lights to come on.

In order to bring light to a nation in darkness, great technological advancements, scientific discoveries, and large sums of money are required. This explains why many nations still lack access to electricity in modern times. The lights need a miracle to turn on. If you have seen salvation, it means that something bright has emerged from the shadows of your soul. You have experienced great mercy and a great miracle from God, I assure you! The greatest miracle must be salvation, surely.

6.Salvation is the greatest miracle because it is a great miracle for you to go to heaven.

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, what are these which are arrayed in white robes? And WHENCE CAME THEY?

And I said unto him, Sir, Tho knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7:13-14

There are places in this world as well that you will never visit. Will you ever set foot in the White House, the Kremlin, or the bedroom of the President of the United States? Very unlikely! It would be a miracle if you could ever enter the White House Oval Office. Heaven, however, surpasses even the White House Oval Office. For you to ever walk those streets of gold would be nothing short of a great miracle.

You would have witnessed a tremendous miracle if you ever had the opportunity to stroll through the streets of gold. If God is opening your door to heaven today, then a great miracle has occurred. Consider how horrible, how sinful, and how full of evil you are. How could someone as unworthy as me ever manage to enter such a place as heaven? It’s got to be a miracle! It truly is a great miracle for someone like you to be welcomed into paradise! For this reason, the greatest miracle in the world is your salvation.

7.Salvation is the greatest miracle because it is a great miracle for you to know Jesus.

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; THAT YE SHOULD BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER, EVEN TO HIM who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Romans 7:4

God is offering you the amazing opportunity to get close to the Lord of Lords and the Prince of Peace today. Discovering Jesus Christ is the path to salvation. You will never meet some people in your lifetime.

It’s not like you’ll ever get to meet the prime minister of England or the president of China. It would truly be a great miracle to meet any of these individuals.

You never imagined you would marry the prince, not even on Earth. Being married to the prince and sharing his home, travelling with him, taking baths with him, and dining with him would be such a miracle. Even getting to meet the prince would be such an incredible honour!

Finally, I Even more miraculous is meeting Jesus Christ. It is unimaginable to be married to Christ. You never imagined being joined in marriage to Christ. Not at all? However, according to what the Bible says, being saved means being married to Christ.

Thank you for agreeing to receive me as I am, and I am forever grateful Lord to meet you and have you as my friend. What a friend we have in Jesus.   Ref: Bishop Dag Heward-Mills
