Revelation 3:14 The Lukewarm Church

“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,

‘These things say the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

Revelation 3:15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.

Revelation 3:16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Revelation 3:17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—

Revelation 3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Revelation 3:22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Hello friends, I believe we’ve already discussed 6 different churches. Today brings us to the last church on this theme. However, I also believe you should have learned and identify your position on where you were, where you are now, and where you are going next as a church. May God reveal more of Him to you through His word, Amen.

Today, I would briefly discuss what it means to be lukewarm as the Bible describes as neither hot nor cold. It is important to understand how not to sit on the fence as some folks will say- I just want to attend church and nothing else, i do not need participation of any sort. There are consequences of remaining neither hot nor cold. It’s dangerous not to identify your position when it comes to God’s service. Please, read verse 16….”SO then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth…. hmmmm”.  I do not pray this for anyone even my enemies if I have one.

The church in Laodicea had grown lukewarm and useless. Their selfish focus on wealth and culture kept them from living on purpose in this life. But Jesus offered them a second chance. He wanted a relationship with them again, and that relationship would put the church back on mission.

Verses 15 and 16 tells us more about how God dislike being either hot nor cold. Please and please, don’t remain lukewarm as a Christian else, the consequences of verse 16 will surely come to you. Remember, God’s Word never returns to him as void. The Bible says- “Heaven and earth will pass away, but none of my Word shall pass away until it has been fulfilled.” It’s real my dear friends. * You have been attending church all these years and never commit yourself to any department, rather serving God all these years and still struggling with your committed hearts (church). God wants you to BECOME ACTIVE IN HIS SERVICE. * I encourage you to please find a Bible believing church around you and attend. Just don’t attend, go to the lead Shepherd (Pastor) and commit to the activities in that local church and God will bless you.

Here is the position of JESUS right now -Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches…

Thank you, Lord, for all these lessons and teaching we learnt over the last 7days concerning your church. We ask in humility that you help us become a faithful church and proactive towards your works you put in our hands. May our Love for you increase more and more daily, Amen and Amen.

Please share….

God bless you all.
