The Importance of Divine Relationship

The Importance of Divine Relationship

Scripture: Ephesians 4:29

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Wow! How amazing is the scripture we have today? It makes me think of what my daughter Daniella told me sometime ago she had learned from the book of Proverbs. Now that I make sure my kids read at least one chapter of the Bible every day, I’ve chosen for this month’s study that they will focus on the book of Proverbs.

Their final chapter and verse were read yesterday, so we decided to have a brief discussion about what they had previously learned about “Wisdom” from the book of Proverbs. I was astounded by her ideas. She referenced Proverbs 27:3. Sand and stones both have weight, but a fool’s wrath is heavier than either of them. Are you aware that the words that come out of our mouths when we are angry are so awkward that we cannot even begin to imagine how dangerous it could become? The apostle Paul warned against speaking anything unwholesome out of your mouths in today’s scripture because of this.

Good friends, I discussed “divine timing” in my previous post. It’s crucial that we understand or are reminded of what a “divine relationship” is in today’s world, both in our everyday lives and as believers.

According to Robert Liardon in his book titled GOD’S GENERAL- “In our lives, we have many relationships, casual and sometimes intimate. But the most significant ones to the kingdom of God are “divine relationships.” In every call, whether secular or ministerial, God sends divine relationships to help strengthen your walk with Him. We may have many casual relationships, but divine relationships are few. They can usually be counted on one hand.”

What then is Divine Relationship.

It is a sacred bond intended to encourage one another’s development on all levels, including the spiritual path. For the one we love, we only want the best and highest. We do not harbour ill will or destructive emotions. We are able to let go and unite on a profound spiritual level in divine sacred love.

God-breathed relationships are those that appear out of nowhere and have the potential to have a profound impact on your life. For you to fulfill your prophetic destiny, they are essential. These relationships can, without a doubt, change your life, even if their intensity is only temporary. The Apostle Paul cautioned the Ephesians for the following reasons:

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouths, but only such as is useful for edifying others in accordance with their needs, that it may profit those who hear.” Similarly, he exhorted the Thessalonian church to encourage one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11). As a result, support one another and lift each other up, just as you already are.

In spite of this, I have maintained the majority of my safe relationships with the divine throughout my professional life, ministry, and everyday life. Don’t miss out on your divine relationships in life, is the sincere advice I have for us today. While coworkers will always be present, divine connections are extremely rare.

Dear Jesus: only you can give us the Spirit of discernment as to know who and when to cling and hold fast on our divine relationships. May we not miss our divine relationships?

in life, Amen…
