The Key to Prayer Answers Is Your Relationship with God

The Key to Prayer Answers Is Your Relationship with God

Scripture: St. John 15:7

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

 REFLECTION

Greetings to all. The message of today serves as a reminder to those who have already heard it and a benefit to those who are hearing it for the first time. You are aware, I’m sure, that no knowledge is wasted. Please carefully read through these letters and make sure you put what you learn into practice.

This is my command: Love one another. He repeats it in John 15:17 with greater emphasis to emphasize the significance of his request. In this instance, as he does forever, Jesus offers himself as our source for making the right love decision.

First, abiding entails that we can ask God for whatever we want, and He will grant our request. The request won’t diverge from Christ’s will if one truly abides in Christ and Christ abides in them.

Let’s now take a closer look at the word “if” in that verse; you’ll see that it’s a conditional word. This means that before you could ask for anything in prayer, you had to abide and remain in Christ. Additionally, abiding implies that you have a personal “relationship” with someone you can rely on to abiding or remaining. Therefore, in order for your prayers to be heard, you must first establish a personal relationship with the Father (God).

The word for father in Hebrew means “source.” Therefore, when you refer to praying to your Father, you are actually praying to your source.

Let me now give a few illustrations so that we can comprehend the significance of the Father as a source.

1. Plant and Soil:

We know from our fundamental understanding of agriculture that the soil is the place where the plant originates. The soil is necessary for the plant’s survival. Additionally, the plant perishes if it continues to emerge from the ground.

2. Fish and Water:

The fish are produced in water. The fish was literally created to live in water; if it keeps jumping out, it perishes while the water remains alive forever.

Therefore, in order to survive, both “Plant” and “Fish” must stay/abide in the source (soil and water). Or, to put it another way, God is our source, and we are His dependents. If we keep stepping away from the source (living in sin), there is a likelihood that we will die in the end. God implores us to stay in Him as the source and let His word abide in us first (Relationship) before we can ask anything and it will be answered in John 15:7. So, having a good relationship with the father is a requirement for having prayers answered (source).

 PRAYER

DEAR LORD, I PRAY THAT TODAYS WORD WILL HELP US TO CONTINUALLY REMAIN IN YOU AND LET YOUR WORD ABIDE IN US. MAY OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU GROW DEEPER AND DEEPER HENCEFORTH, AMEN.
