Scripture: Matthew 4:4-KJV

“BUT HE ANSWERED AND SAID, IT IS WRITTEN, MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.”

 REFLECTION.

Wow!! It’s exciting to hear the same verse of Scripture that I shared yesterday with a new perspective today. Come on, friends, let’s dig in and find out what it says.

Let’s just say that today’s message is an extension of yesterdays, but from a different angle. We discussed this verse and discovered what it means to apply God’s Word to our lives on a daily basis. The proverb “Man shall not live by bread alone” is used frequently today to refer to the idea that true life requires more than just material possessions. It is occasionally used, almost in the exact opposite sense, to defend material luxuries other than necessities like bread.

I like how the dailyverse.knowing-jesus.com puts it- “Although fully God. Jesus lived His life as fully man. in obedience to His Father’s Word and Will. Jesus lived as the perfect example of how God expects all His blood-bought children to live – in obedient dependence upon our heavenly Father.

Furthermore, Jesus was Obedient to the Word and Will of God, by not seeking to act independently of Him in every area of life, no matter how pressing the need or how legitimate the activity was is of great value and supreme importance in the eyes of the Lord for man’s total dependence on Him, glorifies His holy name. Trusting Him in every eventuality of life, however pressing the need, not only demonstrates a godly character but is also part of God’s child-training programme for all believers so that we may continue to be conformed into the image and likeness of Christ as we depend on Him. Therefore, let us seek to be obedient to the Word and Will of the Lord and be prepared to say – I will not live by bread alone but by every WORD that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Today’s thought, which is based on the same verse of Scripture where we learned to know and keep the word of God in our hearts as we did yesterday, contains a second idea. Wow, what a fascinating passage of Scripture. Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone,” which, in my opinion, refers to our DAILY BREAD (the products of our labours). I’ll quickly refer you to the verse in the Bible where Jesus instructed His disciples on how to pray and pleaded, “Give us this day our daily bread.”

However, I believe that even though God gives us our daily bread and blesses the products of our labour, He still expects you and I to do something. Furthermore, He emphasized the importance of not relying solely on your daily bread (your labours; man shall not live by bread “ALONE”).

 WHAT MUST YOU DEPEND ON?

1-But by every word that PROCEEDETH out of the mouth of God.

2- Depend on God’s word for your life from these scriptures; Philippians 4:19, Isaiah 40:11, Psalm 90:14….and so on. Search Scriptures on God’s provision that came out of God’s mouth.

3- Believe God’s word in total; no plan-B.

Believe and depend on them more than the works of your hand(your daily bread).

These words are for someone who is trying to figure out how to get out of debt while facing a financial crisis. In the name of God, Amen, I declare that you will give testimony as you get through your financial crisis this year.

 Prayer.

O LORD: HELP ME NOT TO ONLY DEPEND ON THE WORKS OF MY HAND BUT COMPLETELY DEPEND ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDETH OUT OF YOUR MOUTH THIS YEAR AND BEYOND; SO, HELP ME GOD. AMEN AND AMEN.

 God bless you……………
