What it Takes to Follow Daniel

What it Takes to Follow Daniel

Scripture: Daniel 6:10

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.”

Creating a regular prayer routine is an important step for anyone who is determined to follow Daniel.

Here is what I learned from my mentor and from reading THE ART OF FOLLOWING by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills on pages (197-198) of one of his many books.

Daniel often prayed. The Bible contains accounts of his practices and prayer life. He prayed three times daily and gave thanks to God. We can’t accomplish much good without the Lord’s assistance. We can receive the Lord’s assistance because of our prayers.

We can receive the Holy Spirit and the support we require for our lives through prayer. It is unusually challenging to act morally soundly. The right decisions are frequently challenging and challenging, while the wrong decisions are nice and easy. Making difficult tasks into habits is one method for assisting you in completing them. Because of this, we instill in our kids’ certain habits that will help them face challenges head-on throughout their lives.

Daniel was accustomed to praying. The most advantageous habit he could have formed for himself was this one. He walked in a level of anointing that few ever do by making prayer a habit.

You need to practice prayer on a regular basis. It is impossible to be filled with the Spirit today and count on being filled tomorrow. You must constantly be filled with the Spirit. Many people experience the filling of the Spirit, but they don’t stay filled. They turn to God in desperate situations and with fervent prayers. God wants you to be filled with the Spirit through constant prayer. Pray without ceasing.

Finally, I’ll urge you to buy Bishop Dag Heward-Mills’ book The Art of Following, read it cover to cover, and make sure you emulate those who, through faith and patience, attained God’s promises for their lives. Keep in mind that a good follower makes a good leader, and the objective is to develop followers into excellent leaders who are change agents.
